Description/Blazon
On a dark blue disk a representation of the constellation Aquila consisting of ten white stars, above in base golden eagle in flight to dexter grasping in his talons a gold harpoon, all enclosed by a circular white band edged with a gold rope on the outside and inscribed "USS AQUILA (PHM-4)" at the top and "PARATUS PULSARE" in base all in blue.

Symbolism
Dark blue and gold are the colors traditionally used by the Navy and symbolize the sea and excellence. The constellation for which this ship is named is represented by the star formation. The eagle in flight is a personification of the ship's name, its speed and maneuverability.
